The Boathouse Kitchen & Bar

The Boathouse sits on the old site of Whisstocks Boatyard which dates back to 1926 and was in operation until the 1990s, building dinghies, fishing boats, lifeboats and private yachts over the decades.

Our interior draws inspiration from the magnificent nautical history of the site – with our styling and branding designed to be both in keeping with and to celebrate the history of the area.

Combining the traditional with the contemporary, our interior has an industrial, rustic feel that references the sites nautical past, with upcycled vintage furniture sitting alongside new contemporary pieces.

The Greyhound Inn

“Louise cooks flavoursome dishes using local produce, sometimes with a hint to their Scottish heritage making everything from the popular Soda Bread which accompanies the starters, ice-cream with the puddings and Oatcakes to go with the cheese board. Louise’s family have had hotels and restaurants since she was a girl, and she has grown up with a love for food and local produce.  Her father, noticing this passion, trained her and she went on the gain 2 AA rosettes for her food.

Stewart serves a selection of ales from local breweries including Earl Soham and Adnams. Behind the bar you will also find an interesting selection of spirits with an ever expanding collection of malt whisky.”

The Unruly Pig

“Fresh, local (wherever possible), seasonal, British food with an Italian influence – unfussy ‘Britalian’ food where our focus is on the quality of the ingredients we use. Our menus change at least seasonally and according to what comes in fresh from the market each day (so dishes can change at very short notice).

Suffolk is a county that is replete with fantastic local produce and suppliers. We are lucky enough to source approximately 70% of our food within 38 miles and below is a list just some of the wonderful people who supply us with their fresh produce. We try where possible to use sustainable ingredients and we recycle most of our waste. We bake our own bread, make most of our pasta and are a firm believer in nose to tail ‘whole beast’ butchery.”
